Oral cottage residents who experienced hardship during the floods have again requested compensation from the Akimat. Today, they gathered at the Oral Akimat. People say they were not included in the compensation and assistance recipients list for housing restoration.
Many did not wait for the commission's visit. People demand that the current situation be reviewed and assistance be provided, "Moi Gorod" reports.
The chairperson of the National Social Democratic Party of the West Kazakhstan Region, Anargul Abenova, said residents who have faced refusals are contacting them.
Many did not have time to register their houses on the plots for various reasons, including a moratorium on registration. In some cases, the house is the only accommodation for a family. The commission declined to provide aid, nonetheless. Some residents have been living near the Akimat for several weeks, seeking fairness.
Abenova says sponsors should help solve the problem, as state finances for those affected have been exhausted. The deputy also urges halting the issuance of permits for constructing permanent housing in cottage areas. This would ensure that only cottages would remain there.
She offers to provide housing to all those affected. According to Anargul Abenova, about 200 cottage residents still have unresolved issues. Deputy City Akim Azamat Khalelov explained that many applications are rejected on legal grounds since the applicants have other housing or a share in an apartment.
However, not all agree with this approach, and the objections continue. Recently, a new Akim was appointed in Oral after a long hiatus.
