On The Run for 7 Years: Jetisu Police Officer Stole Evidence Worth Millions of Tenge

In the Jetisu region, a police officer was convicted of stealing material evidence worth 24 million tenge, Orda.kz reports.
In March 2017, a district police officer from Tekeli and his accomplices stole evidence worth 24 million tenge.
He then evaded law enforcement and was on the international wanted list for seven years.
His accomplices were convicted earlier and sentenced to various prison terms.
The court found the inspector guilty of exceeding authority or official authority under Article 362 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months in prison.
The sentence has entered into legal force.
