Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov met with Yandex Global CEO Daniil Shuleyko and the head of Yandex Qazaqstan, Timur Shalekenov.
The discussion focused on key areas of cooperation — from the development of platform-based employment to the implementation of new digital solutions, including technologies aimed at enhancing travel safety.
Yandex Taxi is the first service in Kazakhstan to operate as a tax agent. Currently, 86,000 drivers work on the platform, with plans to expand that number to 120,000. To date, investments in the project have exceeded 4.9 billion tenge. Since the beginning of the year, the company has also been actively expanding intercity route coverage across Kazakhstan.
Special attention at the meeting was given to safety measures. Yandex employs a range of technological tools, including license verification, selfie identification, regular vehicle inspections, and real-time monitoring of speed, driver fatigue, and route deviations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership. The Prime Minister instructed relevant government bodies to develop mechanisms for the joint implementation of digital initiatives.
