Oligarchs' Seized Assets to Fund Water Systems in Qyzylorda Region

More than four billion tenge will be allocated from the Special State Fund to complete the water supply system in the Aral district of the Qyzylorda region. This money was taken from Kazakhstani oligarchs as part of the return of illegally acquired assets, Orda.kz reports.
According to the government, 3.7 billion tenge of returned assets will be used to complete the construction of a water pipeline in the villages of Tokabay and Abay, where more than three thousand people live.
It is planned that the villagers will begin receiving high-quality water by the end of the year.
Another project that will be financed from the Special State Fund is a water supply system to the village of Akbasty, where about 400 people live. 524 million tenge were allocated for the completion of construction.
