More than 28 billion tenge from assets returned to the state will be allocated to complete the construction of a hospital complex in Ridder, the Cabinet of Ministers reports.
The construction of this complex began construction in 2021. It includes a 200-bed hospital and a polyclinic able to service 500 visits per shift. The project will be completed by investing the returned assets of Kazakhstani oligarchs in the final stage of construction.
The total cost of the project, the government notes, is 34.8 billion tenge.
During a trip to the East Kazakhstan region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov inspected the facility, where he was informed that funding would be needed.
The opening of the hospital complex is of great importance for this single-industry town with a high demographic burden. Ridder is home to 55,000 people, of whom 22.7% are over 60 years old. The buildings of the only hospital complex were built more than 80 years ago. The facilities are outdated and do not meet modern requirements, the Cabinet press service writes.
Recently, reports emerged that the new tranche of money will be used to build a nursery in Aqtobe.
