Nurlan Nigmatullin’s Son Not a Suspect in Raiding Case, Says Financial Monitoring Agency

Nurzhan Nurlanov, son of former Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatullin, is not a suspect in a criminal case related to corporate raiding, Orda.kz reports.
While his name appears in the case, he has not been formally accused.
This clarification was provided by Deputy Chair of the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Yelesemov, during a briefing on the sidelines of the Majilis.
We have a criminal case on the fact of corporate raiding. In the Department of Economic Development of the city of Almaty. As of today, I cannot disseminate any other information. His status is not suspect. He is not recognized as a suspect, no qualifications have been presented against him. I confirm that a corresponding statement (with law enforcement - Ed.) has appeared that he took the company by means of corporate raiding,
said Yelesemov.
According to him, the statement was initially filed with a police department and later transferred to the Financial Monitoring Agency.
The investigation is ongoing.
