The residence of former National Security Committee (KNB) Chairman Karim Massimov has once again failed to sell at auction, Orda.kz reports.
According to the government’s electronic auction portal, the repeat sale scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on March 28 did not take place, as no applications were submitted. The starting price for the mansion was set at 1,883,338,900 tenge (approx. $4.2 million).
This marks the second unsuccessful attempt to auction off the property. The initial sale was scheduled for February 10 but was canceled when no buyers came forward to meet the 1.8 billion tenge starting bid.
The mansion, once owned by Massimov — who is now serving an 18-year prison sentence for treason and attempting to seize power — is located in Astana’s Nura district.
We previously reported in detail on the contents of the estate.
