A subsidiary of KazMunayGas plans to build a new oil depot in the Turkistan region with an investment of about five billion tenge, Orda.kz reports.
According to the company’s press service, the project was presented by Ildar Shamsutdinov, CEO of KazMunayGas-Aero, during a meeting with regional authorities. The company will oversee the construction.
The oil depot will include a tank farm with a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, 12,000 of which will be designated for aviation fuel storage, including Jet A-1. A modern airfield refueling vehicle is also planned, KazMunayGas stated.
Construction is set to begin in 2026 and finish by 2028. The project is expected to create around 50 new jobs. Once operational, the facility will enhance aviation and logistics infrastructure and boost passenger and cargo flows across the region.
