The new law is expected to make it easier for Kazakhstani businesses to access the markets of other CIS countries, Orda.kz reports.
The law, signed by President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, is titled "On the Ratification of the Agreement on Free Trade in Services, Establishment, Activities and Implementation of Investments."
The Senate ratified the agreement on April 17.
The essence of the law was explained in the upper house of parliament as follows:
The document is aimed at creating common rules and favorable conditions for service providers and investors from the CIS countries. It will ensure more predictable working conditions, increase the level of investment protection and simplify access to partner markets.
This means that it will now be easier for Kazakhstan's businesses operating in the service sector to enter the markets of other CIS countries.
