A man entered an apartment in an elite residential complex, where he stabbed a pregnant 46-year-old woman and stole all the valuables, Orda.kz correspondent reports.
The victim was identified as a leading specialist in the oil and gas sector, serving as a manager in the development planning department of the NCOC company. Her relatives have appealed to the Human Rights Committee for support.
Human rights activists have called for a comprehensive and transparent investigation, not ruling out a potential link between the homicide and the victim’s professional activities.
She was a highly qualified expert who took part in major national projects, including Kashagan. We believe that all possible versions should be considered as part of the investigation, including a possible connection between the crime and her professional activities,
the committee said.
Police opened a criminal case under the article "Homicide."
The 38-year-old suspect was detained shortly after the incident and placed in a temporary detention facility. Material evidence was seized from him. The case is under the supervision of the regional police department leadership. Residents are demanding stronger security.
