Nazarbayev University Student Dies in Apparent Suicide

A student at Nazarbayev University has died in Astana after jumping from a dormitory window, Orda.kz reports.
Psychologists are now working with students in the aftermath of the tragedy.
The incident occurred on August 15, and the university confirmed the student’s death today.
We deeply regret to inform you of the tragic incident that occurred on the Nazarbayev University campus. The university expresses its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and shares their profound loss. All necessary response measures were promptly taken. Emergency services and law enforcement agencies have been involved, the university’s administration said in an official statement.
Psychologists are providing support to the student’s relatives, classmates, and loved ones. The university’s press service added that the family requested that personal information and details of the incident not be disclosed.
Orda.kz's sources noted that the student did this due to personal reasons and that the incident was not related to her studies.
The Astana Police Department confirmed that a criminal case has been opened. Police also stated that the student was 22 years old and fell from the 12th floor of the dormitory.
On July 18, another Nazarbayev University student was found dead in a dormitory.
