A court in Aqtobe has arrested a man who harassed a young woman in a mosque, Orda.kz reports.
23-year-old Emmanuella Nauryzbayeva reported that the trial on the case of harassment in the Nur-Gasyr mosque in Aqtobe took place on July 29.
The accused was arrested for 5 days.
Nauryzbayeva said that during the trial, it turned out that this man had previously been held accountable – he was convicted of hooliganism and in January 2025 also harassed another person, also in a mosque.
Now, by court order, an examination has been ordered. If mental illness is confirmed, the man will be sent for compulsory treatment. If it turns out that the diagnosis is fictitious, this will entail criminal prosecution for falsifying medical documents,
she said.
She has also said she will sue those who publicly humiliated her, filmed videos, spread lies, and made accusations. Nauryzbayeva stated that she does not intend to remain silent.
I speak openly because I want to protect women and children from such cases. (...) The Internet remembers everything. You will be held accountable. See you in court soon,
the young woman said.
Earlier, we reported that a man in a mosque harassed the young woman, offering her a "one-time nikah." The police drew up a report for harassment in a public place and sent the materials to court.
After the incident, Emmanuella faced harassment on social networks and even uninvited visitors at her home.
