Ministry Of Labor Reveals Where And What Unemployed Kazakhstanis Choose To Study

More than 22,000 unemployed citizens have gained skills through short-term vocational training since the beginning of the year, Orda.kz reports.
The programs are offered through educational institutions at employers’ request, directly in workplaces, and online through a special portal. According to the ministry, the training lasts no longer than six months, depending on the profession.
The highest number of trainees was recorded in Aktobe region, with 2600 people. Shymkent followed with 2300, while Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions each recorded 1600 trainees. In Kostanay region, 1500 people were sent for training.
Short-term training allows unemployed citizens to gain professional knowledge and skills that are in demand in the labor market within several months. the ministry said.
Another 21,600 unemployed people completed training online through Enbek. The most popular fields included cook, seamstress, cashier, hairdresser, tractor driver, manicurist and stylist. During the training period, participants receive a stipend of 20 MCI, or 86,500 tenge.
