Migration Fraud Ring Uncovered in Baikonur

Employees of the National Security Committee of the Kyzylorda region detained people who organized illegal migration in Baikonur, Orda.kz reports.
According to the National Security Committee, gang members illegally obtained over 80 temporary residence permits in Kazakhstan. The documents were received mainly by citizens of neighboring countries.


During the searches, material evidence was found. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Part 1 of Article 251, Part 2 of Article 394 and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code, the KNB press service reports.
The scheme involved private notaries and civil servants who took bribes for issuing temporary residence permits.
They face a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to five years, and confiscation of property.
