Kazakhstan’s joint projects with Iran have been put on hold because of the military escalation in the Middle East, Orda.kz reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Isetov commented on economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran amid the worsening situation in the region. According to him, many joint projects have effectively been frozen, while businesses have taken a wait-and-see approach.
We had grain supplies, and we had projects for mutual cooperation in the exchange of food products. I can say with confidence that these projects are most likely now on pause. he said at a briefing in the Senate.
At the same time, Isetov noted that Kazakhstan is not suffering any serious economic losses, since the scale of cooperation with Iran was not critical for the country’s economy.
