Mediation in Peace Processes, Warm Relations, Historical Roots: Toqayev and Khachaturyan Hold Talks

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met him at the Aqorda residence, Orda.kz reports.
Toqayev and Khachaturyan introduced the delegation members to each other. The chief of the honor guard company gave a welcoming report, and the anthems of the two countries were played. After this ceremony, the presidents went to the negotiation hall.
In a conversation with the Armenian leader, Toqayev said he attaches particular importance to regular high-level meetings, strengthening relations between the two countries.
Today's agreements will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations. Kazakhstan values friendly relations with Armenia. There are warm feelings for the Armenian people on Kazakh soil. For Kazakhstan, Armenia is a reliable and time-tested close partner. Our peoples are connected by strong ties of friendship, common history, and similar cultural and humanitarian values, the head of state is confident.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of signing the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia. Against this backdrop, Toqayev noted the development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Last year, the Days of Kazakh Theatre in Armenia were held in Yerevan. Next year, it is planned to organize the Decade of Culture of Kazakhstan in your country. Today, we will ceremonially open the Days of Armenian Culture in Kazakhstan, continued the President of Kazakhstan.
In response, Vahagn Khachaturyan declared his readiness to continue cooperating with Kazakhstan in various areas.
I am glad to be here. I am sure that our friendship, our relations will be long-lasting, because they have historical roots, said the Armenian leader.
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev also confirmed the Kazakh side's readiness to continue providing the Almaty platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on concluding a peace treaty.
