Mazhday Akhmetov has been appointed as the new General Director of the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PNHZ), replacing Kuanysh Bishimov, who took over leadership of the Atyrau Oil Refinery on April 10, Orda.kz reports.
KazMunayGas (KMG) announced the appointment on April 11. KMG Chair Askhat Khasenov officially introduced Akhmetov to the plant’s staff.
Akhmetov is a long-time member of the Pavlodar plant team, having started his career there in 2010 as a process unit operator. Over the past 15 years, he has held various roles within the company, including several in management. From October 2024 to January 2025, he served as Chief Engineer and Acting Deputy General Director for Production.
Khasenov instructed the new director to ensure stable and uninterrupted operations, improve the plant’s efficiency, increase gasoline output, and implement key investment projects — including the diesel fuel hydrotreating unit reconstruction.
Akhmetov’s predecessor, Kuanysh Bishimov, was officially appointed the new General Director of the Atyrau Oil Refinery the day before.
