Massive Pileup in Aqmola Region: Road Completely Cleared

A massive pileup involving 95 vehicles on the Astana-Petropavlovsk highway has been fully cleared as of 11:50 PM on January 3, reports Orda.
KazAvtJol reports that crews have finished cleanup operations, including restoring the highway's dividing barrier that had been temporarily removed to allow vehicles to turn around.

Rescue efforts continue for those evacuated from the highway.
Emergency responders first transported four people to Makinsk station, where they boarded a train to Petropavlovsk. Shortly after, another group of 16 people, including eight children, were also taken to Makinsk station and departed by train for Astana.
The road is now completely clear and open for traffic.
