The mansion in Astana, with an area of about 2,000 square meters, confiscated from the convicted former head of the National Security Committee and former Prime Minister Karim Massimov, will be transferred for social use.
This was reported by the head of the company for returned assets management, Kuanyshbek Mukash, Orda.kz reports.
The house itself has yet to be transferred to the Akimat. According to Mukash, the city administration has not yet confirmed the application. Currently, the Akimat of Astana is considering potentially utilizing the house as a social facility. There is no final decision yet.
But the contents of the house — antique coins, sabres, and other personal valuables — will be sold separately.

These items, according to Mukash, were assessed as independent assets and will either be auctioned off or bundled with other assets.
Well, I think that if there is a transfer to a state agency, and the state agency refuses these... since they were separately assessed and are a separate pool of assets for us, I think that they will probably be put up for sale separately by us at auction, and will be sold like that. Or we will use a basket sale, that is, we will tie it to some asset and sell it together with it, said Kuanyshbek Mukash.
The transfer of the house was formalized through the Prosecutor General's Office. Specific details are unclear.
Karim Massimov's mansion in Astana was put up for auction for 1.9 billion tenge, but no one participated.
The price was later reduced to 1.6 billion, but there were still no buyers. Ultimately, it was decided to give it to the City Akimat to meet social needs.
