Maintenance Completed at Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant Ahead of Schedule

Scheduled preventive maintenance at the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PNHZ) was completed on July 16, a day earlier than the deadline set by the Ministry of Energy, reports Orda.kz, citing KazMunayGas.
The maintenance, which began on June 18, was essential for ensuring the plant’s uninterrupted and safe operation, the statement said. Throughout the repairs, more than 930 pipelines — over 140,000 linear meters — plus over 200 pieces of equipment and 16 sections of process furnaces were thoroughly inspected.
Automation systems, electrical equipment, and control and measuring devices were also checked.
At the primary oil refining unit, complex work was carried out to replace the electric dehydrators and metal structures. The total weight of the new equipment was 512 tons. In addition, in the liquefied gas storage park, tanks with a total weight of 216 tons were replaced. This will significantly increase the reliability and safety of production, KazMunayGas stated.
A total of 1,310 specialists and 107 pieces of equipment were involved in the maintenance.
Since April, PNHZ has been under the leadership of a new CEO, Majdai Akhmetov, who replaced Kuanysh Bishimov after he was appointed to manage the Atyrau Oil Refinery.
