Madiyev Asked About Internet Issues During Holiday
Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev was asked why there were problems with Internet access during the Independence Day weekend in Kazakhstan, Orda reports.
Problems with the internet and communications have become a tradition in Kazakhstan during national holidays when protests could occur.
But Zhaslan Madiyev believes there is no connection between the two factors.
Some malfunctions happen, we automatically react to them, to any incidents. We expect that there will be no such malfunctions during the upcoming holidays. I have no information that this is related to protests. You know, we have several databases in our country. They are all integrated with each other. Very large requests and processes are within these technologies. Therefore, a malfunction can occur in any organization, in any bank, in any government agency, in any country, said Madiyev.
According to him, specialists quickly resolved the problems and are now preparing a report to study the causes.
At the same time, he clarified that the TikTok service's slow operation is unrelated to Internet malfunctions in Kazakhstan.
The fact that TikTok was working slowly and the fact that failures were identified are not connected in any way. We have a government agency that is responsible for working with Internet platforms. This is the Ministry of Culture and Information. They work together with the National Security Committee on Internet content, with Internet platforms, and so on. Therefore, if you are specifically interested in TikTok, then this is not a question for our ministry, added Madiyev.
