On August 18, news surfaced that the chair of the Republican Television and Radio Corporation “Kazakhstan,” Lyazzat Tanysbay, announced she is stepping down from her position.
She will now head “Perviy Kanal Evraziya,” Orda.kz reports.
Expressing my gratitude to all colleagues with whom I had the opportunity to work together, I made the decision to conclude my activity as chair of the board,
she said during a meeting with the corporation’s leadership.
Tanysbay was born on October 11, 1973, in East Kazakhstan Region. A graduate of the Almaty Institute of International Journalism, she began her career as an editor and TV presenter on the “Kazakhstan” channel.
She later worked at “Khabar,” the Presidential Administration, and held leadership positions in the Committee of Information and Archives. She also served as Vice Minister of Information and Communications.
From 2012, Tanysbay led the “Astana” TV channel, then the “Nur-Media” media holding.
She has been at the helm of RTRK “Kazakhstan,” which includes more than 20 TV channels and radio stations, since April 2019. From now on, she will lead “Perviy Kanal Evraziya.”
The new head of RTRK “Kazakhstan” is Yernur Burakhan, who, like Tanysbay, hails from East Kazakhstan Region. Over the past two years, he worked as an adviser to the akim of the region and head of the internal policy department.
