Lenin Mine: Qaraganda Court Dismisses Convicted Employees' Appeal

The convicted employees tried to appeal their prison terms, Orda.kz reports, citing the Qaraganda regional court.
On December 2, the Qaraganda Regional Court heard an appeal regarding the explosion at the Lenin mine.
A court previously sentenced the four employees:
- Chief engineer of the mine's technical service, Petr Li, – five years.
- Acting Head of the Ventilation and Safety Engineering Section Dmitry Ablov – four years.
- Acting Deputy Head of the Emission Hazardous Sites Forecast Service Talgat Bayakenov and Head of the Production Service Shift Andrey Zavyalov – 4.5 years.
The regional court upheld the first-instance decision.
The explosion at the Lenin mine occurred on November 3, 2022, and claimed the lives of four people.
