On January 6, 2025, attorneys representing Sherzat Polat's family provided updates on several ongoing investigations, including the death of Nurganat Gaipbayev, during an Instagram livestream, reports Orda.kz.
Gaipbayev, Sherzat's uncle and younger brother of Karzhaubay Nurymov, was found dead near a cemetery between Talgar and Azat village on December 9.
According to the preliminary version, the man committed suicide. The case has been opened under Article 105 of the Criminal Code, "Driving to Suicide."
