Latvia Closes Airspace Near Russian and Belarusian Borders Until at Least September 18

Latvia has closed its airspace along the eastern border with Russia and Belarus, following an assessment by the National Armed Forces, Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced at a press conference, Orda.kz reports, citing LSM.
The restriction will remain in effect until at least September 18, with the option of extension.
Russian drones in NATO airspace are an alarming signal, and we must do everything possible to prevent the escalation of drone attacks,Spruds said, refering to the recent drone incident in Poland.
Earlier, Poland imposed similar restrictions on flights along its border with Belarus and Ukraine, in place until December 9.
