Large Wildfire in Qaraganda Region Localized

A large natural fire that broke out in the Bakhtinsky forestry area of the Qaraganda region was localized on 27 April, Orda.kz reports.
Six water drops were made by aircraft,
the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.
The fire ignited about 20 kilometers from the village of Ainabulaq in the Qarqaraly district.
157 personnel, 26 units of equipment, one unmanned aerial vehicle, three aircraft with water dropping devices and one helicopter are involved in the extinguishing. Forestry employees, paratroopers of Kazavialesookhrana, and local volunteers are participating in extinguishing the fire,
the department added.
Officials assure that there is no risk to populated areas. Work to fully extinguish the fire is ongoing.
