Blogger Aitilek Orozbekov has been detained in Bishkek on suspicion of inciting ethnic discord, Orda.kz reports, citing Kloop.kg.
An expert review concluded that Orozbekov’s YouTube videos contain elements of such propaganda.
Orozbekov is known for his "language patrols," where he visits cafes and shopping centers, insisting they communicate with him exclusively in Kyrgyz. He has been accused of acting aggressively and tearing down Russian-language signs.
The blogger has around 16,000 subscribers, and his latest video — about the Kulikov store — has garnered over 80,000 views.
Orozbekov had previously been placed in pre-trial detention in 2024 when he was charged with calling for the violent overthrow of the government. The court found him guilty and issued a fine.
He claimed the charges were linked to his criticism of the authorities and opposition activities.
