Alexander Lukashenko has addressed President Zelensky's recent statements about apologies for attacks launched from Belarusian territory, Orda reports, citing BelTA.

Lukashenko said:

There is something everywhere... Farmers are breaking something, throwing manure at the government, wars are going on and so on. They are arming themselves. And this small island (not so small, as I think, but an island) is peaceful. And you know, they are under pressure. They are under pressure there. So we need to be dragged into this little war. Why is Volodya Zelenskyy acting like this? We were fine with him, on good terms. And my little family too. What is he yapping about, what is he missing? He is being given orders. Everything must be done to drag the country into war.

Lukashenko also said that "a dictatorship like the one in Belarus is better than a democracy like the one in Ukraine."

This comes after President Zelenskyy claimed that in the early days of the invasion, Lukashenko had called him to apologize for attacks launched against Ukraine from Belarus.

According to Lukashenko's press office, this conversation only occurred because his son Nikolai had an "emotional reaction" to the situation.
