KZT 270 Billion: Kazakhstan to Borrow Again

Majilis deputies have taken up a bill on a new loan for Kazakhstan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – over 270 billion tenge – Orda.kz reports .
The loan agreement was signed in Astana on October 11, 2024.
The loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development is provided to the Republic of Kazakhstan in the amount of 84.9 billion yen (273.5 billion tenge) with a repayment period of 11 years. The loan funds are being attracted to maintain the stability of the country's economy within the approved size of the deficit of the republican budget for the planning period,
said Majilis deputy, Tatyana Savelyeva.
Recently, the Majilis began considering bills on other loans.
The first is an Asian Development Bank loan to Kazakhstan for 52.3 billion yen (more than 167 billion tenge), which will be repaid in 15 years, including a grace period until June 1, 2027.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank provided the second loan for 52.7 billion yen (more than 168 billion tenge), with repayment in 15 years and a grace period until June 1, 2027.
