Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has proposed that Central Asian countries begin establishing a visa-free regime among themselves, Orda reports.
The border issue between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which remained unresolved for 101 years, has now been definitively settled. All countries in the region have fully resolved their border disputes, and from this moment forward, lasting peace has been established in Central Asia. Now, Central Asian nations should begin working towards a visa-free regime among themselves. Additionally, for visitors from other countries, we should introduce a single visa that allows free movement across all states in the region, similar to the Schengen visa, Japarov wrote.
His proposal aims to enhance regional integration, facilitate economic cooperation, and streamline travel across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
