A subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s national railway operator, Kazakhstan Temir Joly (KTZ), has reportedly lobbied in favor of HILL Corporation — a company owned by the brother of former Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov — Orda.kz reports.
The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition uncovered a major locomotive motor oil market scheme. According to the agency, procurement procedures were allegedly manipulated to benefit HILL Corporation, excluding competing suppliers.
The results of the APDC investigation were appealed by the company in court. However, based on the Supreme Court ruling of March 11, 2025, decisions of local courts came into force recognizing the legality of the results of the Agency's investigation in relation to HILL Corporation LLP and KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP,
the agency stated.
