Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on April 4 that no phone call is scheduled between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump in the coming days, Orda reports, citing Kommersant.
His statements counter a Politico report that a conversation could happen "before or after the weekend."
No, there are no plans for the next few days yet. There's nothing on the schedule yet,Peskov stated.
The denial follows reports that Trump’s advisers want any conversation with Putin to take place only after Russia agrees to a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, The Kyiv reported on April 3, 2025, Ukraine provided the U.S. with evidence of Russian violations of an energy ceasefire.
Presidential Office Deputy Head Pavlo Palisa, who spoke to Suspilne on April 3, made the initial statement.
Palisa emphasized that Kyiv has not shared specific infrastructure coordinates with the U.S., stating, “Under no circumstances are the coordinates or complete lists of critical infrastructure facilities given to anyone.”
Ukraine had agreed to a 30-day ceasefire during U.S.-brokered talks in Jeddah on March 11. Still, Russia rejected the deal unless it included limits on Ukraine’s military, including a halt to foreign military aid.
Only a partial ceasefire was agreed upon, covering energy infrastructure and the Black Sea.
