Turkish company Köksan Holding is preparing to launch a plastic recycling plant in the Alatau district of Almaty, Orda.kz reports, citing the Almaty Akimat.
The project will be carried out by Köksan Pet Packaging Industry Co., a subsidiary specializing in plastic processing and the production of PET preforms — blanks used for bottles and similar containers.
The facility is expected to process up to 24,000 tons of plastic annually and produce as many as 80,000 preforms each year.
The project is in line with our sustainable development strategy and will become an important element of the waste recycling ecosystem, the Almaty Akimat press service quotes Akim Darkhan Satybaldy as saying.
