KNB Detains Eight Suspected of Extorting Oral Entrepreneurs

The National Security Committee (KNB) has detained individuals accused of being part of a criminal group that targeted entrepreneurs in Oral, Orda.kz reports.
According to the agency, the operation was carried out on June 10. Eight suspects were detained, and two have since been placed under arrest by court order.
The group is suspected of extorting money from local businesspeople, with the KNB stating that their actions significantly impacted the region’s business environment.
During searches, large sums of cash and other material evidence were seized. A pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Article 194 of the Criminal Code, ‘Extortion,’
the Committee’s press service stated.
Further details have not been released, citing the confidentiality of the ongoing investigation.
