The Petromidia refinery in Romania, which KMG International controls, has restarted a low-density polyethylene production unit, reports Orda.kz.
According to KMG, by restarting the unit, KMG International plans to strengthen its position as the only polymer producer in Romania.
Since the beginning of 2025, the demand for petrochemical products has been growing in the European market, which is why the company's management decided to resume the operation of the polyethylene production unit.
This will contribute to further growth of KMGI’s production and financial indicators, and will also allow us to regain leadership in the polymer market in the region,
reports KMG.
The plant will produce up to 75 thousand tons of products per year.
The polyethylene film produced at the KMG plant in Romania will be used in agriculture and packaging. KMG International expects to produce more than 145 thousand tons of polymers this year.
