A Keles district resident said that fellow villagers had abused her son for years, Orda.kz reports, citing Otyrar.
According to the woman, her son was abused by six men, including relatives. He told his mother only several years later, after an incident in February of this year.
That day I left home, and one of the abusers came to us. According to my son, he took some soap, put him on the sofa and molested him. I started asking questions and then my son admitted that this had been going on for many years, says Aigul (name changed).
The son was afraid to talk about what was happening and did not realize the severity of the situation due to his developmental disabilities. The family has already contacted a lawyer.
The lawyer, Gulaykhan Turmanova, reported that the suspects initially admitted their guilt to local elders but are now trying to escape liability.
They first turned to the biy, to the mullah, organized a meeting, confessed to what they had done. But then, realizing that the boy had grown up and had problems with speech, they decided that they could evade liability, Turmanova claims.
The Turkestan Region police have opened a criminal case under the article "Violent Actions of a Sexual Nature Using the Helpless State of the Victim."
The suspects were questioned, and forensic medical examinations were ordered.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
Despite the criminal proceedings, the villagers have not been detained. The young man's mother fears the perpetrators will not be held accountable. The medical examination report will be completed within a month.
