Kazpost has temporarily suspended the acceptance and delivery of parcels containing goods to the United States after restrictions were imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Orda.kz reports.
The measure has been in effect since August 26.
According to Kazpost representatives:
The decision applies to international mail from most countries worldwide. Currently, only five countries out of the 192 members of the Universal Postal Union retain the ability to send parcels to the United States. However, mail and document shipments continue as usual.
The national postal operator is negotiating with U.S. authorities to restore parcel services as soon as possible.
