Kazatomprom Signs Memorandum on Uranium Supply with Slovak Power Company

Kazatomprom has signed a memorandum of understanding with Slovenské elektrárne a.s. (SEAS), outlining plans to supply Kazakhstan's uranium to two nuclear power plants in Slovakia, Orda.kz reports.
According to Kazatomprom’s press service, SEAS operates facilities that generate 70% of Slovakia’s electricity. The company, one-third state-owned, manages the Bohunice and Mochovce nuclear plants.
The agreement paves the way for Kazatomprom to begin supplying uranium concentrate to Slovakia, with the potential to expand deliveries to include uranium dioxide in the future.
Kazatomprom General Director Meirzhan Yusupov described the deal as an important step toward building a long-term partnership with a European nation.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan's uranium could also be supplied to nuclear power stations in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
