Kazakhtelecom JSC has responded to a video message recorded by employees of its Mangystau branch, Orda.kz reports.
They said their salaries are too low to cover basic living costs amid rising inflation, food prices, and utility bills.
We recently learned that board members received bonuses equal to 10 times their salaries, while ordinary employees, who shoulder all the work, received 20,000 tenge each. This is blatantly unfair, they claimed.
In response to Orda’s inquiry, Kazakhtelecom said the company “adheres to the principles of openness and transparency” and remains open to dialogue with staff.
A meeting was held in the region with the ombudsman and trade union representatives, and all requests and suggestions from employees were thoroughly reviewed and taken into account in future work,
the company said in its official statement.
Kazakhtelecom added that salary indexation is reviewed regularly during budget planning. However, the company did not provide a clear answer on whether wages for employees in Aqtau will be raised.
The company’s press service declined to comment on the claims about bonuses.
