Kazakhstan’s Security Service Seizes Illegal Weapons in Large-scale Operation

The National Security Committee (KNB) has reported the results of a large-scale special operation targeting illegal arms trafficking, Orda.kz reports.
The coordinated operation took place in Astana, Almaty, and nine regions across the country.




In total, 40 weapons were confiscated.
This is an infantry flamethrower, four Kalashnikov assault rifles, 12 pistols, 23 rifles, five grenades, and more than 800 rounds of ammunition,
the KNB press service stated.
According to the agency, individuals found guilty of illegally acquiring or possessing firearms face penalties under Article 287 of the Criminal Code, which provides for punishment ranging from fines to imprisonment.
