Kazakhstan’s Main Energy Company to Pay Significant Dividends

KEGOC, the joint-stock company that operates Kazakhstan’s power grid, has announced dividend payments for the second half of 2024. The total amount will exceed 22 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports
According to information posted on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, KEGOC plans to distribute 22.3 billion tenge to shareholders for the second half of 2024. Dividends per common share will amount to 81 tenge, with payments scheduled to begin on June 4.
KEGOC’s main shareholders are the Samruq-Qazyna National Welfare Fund, which holds 85.49% of shares, and JSC ENPF (the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund), which owns 6.93%. As of the end of last year, the company’s total assets were valued at 1.02 trillion tenge.
Kazakhstan’s key player in the energy supply market has increased its dividend payouts compared to previous years. In 2023, KEGOC paid about 78 tenge per share, with total payments around 20 billion tenge.
Meanwhile, KEGOC’s top executives saw a significant rise in their compensation last year.
