Kazakhstan’s Largest Ethnic Groups: Updated Figures Released

The National Statistics Bureau has released new data, Orda.kz reports.
Ahead of Kazakhstan’s Day of Unity, the Bureau published statistics on the country’s 15 largest ethnic groups.
According to the report, Kazakhstan’s population now exceeds 20.3 million people.
Kazakhs comprise 14,456,709.
Russians are the second-largest group at 2,963,938, followed by Uzbeks at 678,487.
The remaining top ethnic groups are:
4. Ukrainians – 371,807
5. Uyghurs – 305,648
6. Germans – 223,272
7. Tatars – 218,926
8. Azerbaijanis – 155,364
9. Koreans – 120,686
10. Turks – 91,732
11. Dungans – 86,067
12. Belarusians – 74,389
13. Tajiks – 58,712
14. Kurds – 51,171
15. Kyrgyz – 40,200
Representatives of more than 120 nationalities live in Kazakhstan.
