Deputy Health Minister Timur Muratov said SK-Pharmacy generally performs its duties, but admitted there are problems with the supply of medicines, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, the single distributor is responsible not only for providing the population with medicines, but also for other areas.
As for disruptions and shortages in drug supply, I have to admit that such episodic cases occur during the year. The drug supply system is large, very large, and requires further improvement,Muratov said at a briefing at the Central Communications Service.
Starting this year, officials plan to switch to personalized drug supply. This means doctors will specify particular medicines and treatment parameters for each patient in advance. The Ministry of Health wants to track the full path of a medicine — from the submission of an application to the patient receiving the drug.
Muratov also said experts are working on a mechanism for maintaining an irreducible reserve. It should work when new patients are added to the system, helping avoid medicine shortages.
