The Ministry of Energy has denied reports about a possible sale of a stake in the Atyrau Oil Refinery (ANPZ) to the Russian company Tatneft, Orda.kz reports.
The Ministry emphasized that cooperation between the companies is limited strictly to exchanging operational experience, and no negotiations are underway regarding transferring a stake in the refinery.
The exchange of experience between companies in the oil refining sector and beyond is a standard and common practice aimed at improving refinery performance. As previously stated by the ministry, the issue of selling a stake in ANPZ is not currently under consideration, the official statement from the Ministry of Energy said.
Earlier, the national company KazMunayGas commented on claims that a stake in the Atyrau Oil Refinery was planned to be transferred to the Russian public joint-stock company Tatneft.
