Kazakhstan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Yerlan Nysanbayev, has forecast a very hot summer during a government meeting, Orda.kz reports.

He noted that the past winter was warm and snowy, which helped moisten the soil, particularly in the northern and central regions.

However, due to a hot April and rapid moisture evaporation, some areas, such as the Syrym district in West Kazakhstan, are expected to face soil moisture deficits. The Ministry recommends starting the sowing season earlier than usual.

May is expected to be hot and dry in most parts of the country, though precipitation levels in the grain belt, foothill areas, and far south are forecast to be near normal, the Minister said.

In June, average temperatures will range from 17–20°C in the north and center, 23–25°C in the west, and up to 45°C in the south. Rainfall is expected to be within the norm in the west and northeast, but below normal in other regions.

July temperatures are expected to align with climate averages, except in the east and southeast, where they may be 1°C above normal. Rainfall will be within the norm overall, though some southern and northern areas may see above-average precipitation.

According to the preliminary forecast, the final months of the agricultural season will be favorable for crop formation and harvest. Monthly average temperatures are predicted to be 1°C above normal, with no significant rainfall expected.
