At the annual international conference of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) 2024 in Washington, the winner in the category of achievements in air traffic services was Kazaeronavigatsia, Orda.kz reports.
The winning project allows for a new way of organizing air traffic and improving aircraft servicing in the Aqtobe control center's area of responsibility. The creators, Nursultan Tompiyev, Aset Akhmetbayev, and Madi Asylkhanov, are confident that the development will be used in other regions of Kazakhstan.
Dynamic sectorization allows to optimize airspace, reduce the workload of air traffic controllers and increase the capacity in the airspace of the flight information area. The project applied a scientific approach to the temporary division of the airspace of the Aqtobe flight information area. The implementation of this project will allow to apply this methodology in subsequent implementations of dynamic sectorization in other areas of responsibility in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the experts said.
This is the first time Kazakhstan has received such an award.
