Kazakhstanis who voluntarily relocate to regions facing worker shortages will be eligible for up to seven million tenge toward purchasing a home, Orda.kz reports.
The Labor Ministry has updated the country’s voluntary resettlement program. One of the main changes is an increase in the value of the economic mobility certificate, a housing subsidy available to program participants.
The maximum amount will rise to 1,625 monthly calculation indices (MCI), equivalent to around seven million tenge. The money can be used to purchase a home in the participant’s new region.
The program also covers relocation expenses, rent, and utility bills. Participants will receive assistance finding employment.
The main purpose of the changes is to help citizens not only move to another region, but also settle there comfortably, purchase their own housing, and establish themselves in their new community, the ministry said.
Eligibility has also been expanded. The program was previously aimed primarily at unemployed people, but in-demand specialists may now receive state support as well.
