Kazakhstan has ranked 70th in the latest global Quality of Life Index (HPI) published by CEOWORLD magazine, falling behind countries like Thailand and Serbia. Meanwhile, Seychelles and Belarus follow just behind in 71st and 72nd place, Orda.kz reports.

The ranking assesses countries based on life quality and expectancy, education standards, political stability, and per capita income. A total of 196 countries were evaluated across three main categories: stability, life satisfaction, and what the study calls "balance" — encompassing rights and freedoms, equality, environmental care, and more.

Switzerland topped the list with a near-perfect HPI score of 97.9, followed by Norway and Iceland. Ireland, Singapore, and Australia also made the top 10. The United States came in 21st with a score of 93.07.

Among regional comparisons, Turkey placed 48th (HPI 87), and Russia landed at 59th (81.84). Kazakhstan’s HPI is 79.32 — high enough to be included in the “very high quality of life” category defined by the index’s authors, but still behind many of its global peers.

Below Kazakhstan are countries like Belarus, Bulgaria, China, and Armenia. Azerbaijan ranked 92nd, Turkmenistan 96th, Ukraine 102nd, Uzbekistan 108th, and Kyrgyzstan 119th. The bottom of the list is dominated by African nations such as Niger, Chad, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Somalia.
