Kazakhstan will conduct its first test oil deliveries to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline during 2025.
This was agreed upon by Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Almassadam Satkaliyev and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó during a meeting in Astana, reports Orda.kz.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Satkaliyev and Szijjártó discussed the current state of affairs in the energy sector and prospects for cooperation.
A key topic was cooperation in the oil and gas industry between KazMunayGas and Hungary's MOL Group.
Both companies are jointly developing the Rozhkovskoye gas condensate field in the West Kazakhstan region.
Issues regarding the supply of Kazakhstan's oil to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline were discussed. An agreement was reached on test deliveries during 2025, the Ministry of Energy's statement said.
Kazakhstan is interested in nuclear power plant technologies that Hungary can offer. In particular, Kazakhstan's specialists would be keen to adopt Hungarian experience in producing dry cooling towers manufactured by MVM Group.
We see great potential for expanding cooperation in the energy sector, both in the oil and gas sector and in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, Almassadam Satkaliyev emphasized.
