Kazakhstan to Launch New Satellite and Rocket into Space

Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev presented Kazakhstan's main projects in the aerospace sector, Orda.kz reports.
He said a contract had been signed to create three medium-resolution Earth remote sensing satellites, which will be launched in 2027. In addition, an export contract has been concluded with Mongolia for the production of a satellite.
It is planned to replace the KazSat-3 communications satellite by 2029 to ensure uninterrupted service of satellite communications networks and TV broadcasting. Preliminary work is underway on the project, and the signing of a contract for the creation of the satellite is planned for 2025,the minister told the Senate deputies.
Work on the Baiterek project has resumed. The first launch of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle is scheduled for 2025, and commercial launches are planned for 2028.
The minister also noted that developments are underway to create Kazakhstan's launch vehicle, which will provide independent access to space for Kazakhstan. A prototype of solid rocket fuel has already been made. The launch of a meteorological rocket is planned for 2025, and testing of an ultra-light rocket is scheduled for 2030.
